The Brightening Dark Spaces Board is a group of people passionate about creating trauma-informed spaces for children in the child welfare system.

Helen Hindman
Having witnessed the foster-care process, Helen is an advocate for positive change in its dark spaces. She has a heart for the child welfare system and has deep compassion and love for underprivileged, marginalized children and their biological families.

Angela Hindman
Practicing family law attorney, former foster mama, and now adoptive mama to two precious girls, Angela has a huge heart for the child welfare system and all those involved. She advocates for foster children as a mom and as a professional.

Sarah Case
Being the adoptive mama of her teenage daughter, Sy'Niya, Sarah has a huge heart for children who need places to call home. Sarah is the hands and feet of Jesus in this world, sacrificing herself for those who are underprivileged and unseen. She loves fiercely and exemplifies beautifully the role of the church in this broken world.

Kelsey Smith
Being a former foster mama of 9 precious children, Kelsey has a huge heart for the child welfare system. She's wife to Hayden and mama to Skylar and Truett. It's always a party when Kels is around and her life bears fruit as she loves others out of the overflow of Jesus' love that she abides in.
